Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash 5K : Details, Schmetails

by Mr Lady Email

After careful consideration, thorough research, and a few slams of my forehead into the keyboard, I have solved our parking dilemma downtown:

Don't.

The whole city is going to be a (censored). RTD says that they do not yet know what impact moving the convention to Invesco Field on the 28th will have on the traffic flow around the city, and when a major metropolitan city shrugs its shoulders at you and says, "I dunno," you would be right to start being very afraid.

Here's the thing. Denver has this awesome new public transit system called Light Rail (It had better be awesome; I paid a crap load in taxes for it and have never ONCE had the chance to ride it.) The good news it that Trios Enoteca is directly across the street from one of the major stops on the line, Union Station. All you have to do it get yourself on the C or E line at some point, and the Light Rail will force you off at Union Station, which it the last stop. If you're coming from downtown, just hop off at 16th and Stout and take the mall ride west (or god forbid, walk) to Wynkoop Street.

If you come in by bus, every bus in the city has to come through Market Street Station at some point. Get off there and walk west for 2 blocks to Wynkoop.

It gets better. I have a MAP for you of the Light Rail line. You can click the image to jump over to RTD's website and see the larger map. And here's the link to all of the Park and Ride Stations around town. There's a lot of'em, folks.

Light Rail fares range from $1.75 to $4.00, depending on how far from the city you're coming. But hell, we're buying your first beer, so call it a wash.

Hi! Debbie from MOMocrats.com - we'd love to join you en masse! Stoked to have a meet-up for bloggers during the Demvention to attend. You are all, each of you, more righteous than the last.
