RMBB 5K: The Donkeys Over Denver Edition
With the kind sponsorship of Lijit and with the hard work of Mr. Lady, the DNC edition of the Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash can finally be announced. Thank God.
Trios Enoteca
1730 Wynkoop·Denver, CO 80202
7:30 PM to Close
Free Food and Free Beer & Wine
(In limited supplies and only if we like you.)
Join us for one very long night of beer-swigin' politicing in the heart of downtown. Because god knows, we have a pretty high tolerance here in the Mile High City. Everyone is welcome; hell, this thing is hosted by a political blogger and a mommy blogger. We don't discriminate. Tell your friends, bring your grannie if you must.
This site will continuously update with the links of everyone who RSVPs, so be sure to leave a note to let us know that you're coming. Please leave a valid email address; your free beer depends on it.
We're gathering ideas for decent parking, and are still looking for a few more companies to sponsor food and booze. Email Zombyboy (or Mr Lady if you must, but Zombyboy's probably your best choice) for information if you're interested.
And heck, could you maybe go download Lijit's little search widget? Because really, without them, we'd be doing this thing at Zomby's house.

But you guys knew that.
You're smart that way.
I'll be adding names to the attendee list as I go along, so yours will be up there soon.

I'll even have a video crew (OK, a dude) with me, so remember ladies: We need those skirts to be short.

Hipster Jesus.
It's the "I'm coming later because I'm a member of the Denver Ukulele Orchestra, and we've got a late afternoon/early evening gig."
I'll bet that's blown all my blogging "cool," presuming I had any to begin with.
Wheels: ... ... ...
Warmonger, the graphics are a'coming. Then we'll hit the PR hard. How about a Hazardous Duty shot?
Roger: I will be out there with you on the last day, and I know the BlogHer gals will be around the Pepsi Center for the whole thing. We wish you luck. God speed, soldier.
Denise, Elaine, and Micah...WELCOME! So glad you're coming!
Heheh. That's such a lie.
Count me in!
aguante!

Other Park and Rides on the light rail lines will work, but the one at Broadway is convenient to anyone taking the Interstate, and it keeps you from having to cross fare boundaries (and pay more).
HTH!
Just added this to our convention calendar which I will now proceed to pimp:

With bells on. And maybe even some Lijit shirts?
Free beer and food is A-OK!
P.S. Great logo. ;)
Aimee
(Greeblemonkey)
I suppose I could show up and bring the comedian in tow.
- Sarah
Is there wifi? (Asks the blogger who's supposed to be covering the convention.) If not, no problem. I may just be a bit late!
Aimee
P.S. LawyerMama, this time WE WILL MEET IN PERSON.
Danielle
Jeremy
Two peeps: my person and one Phil Porter.
- Sarah Porter
Imaginary Binky
Which is seriously cool.
I'll be updating the RSVP list later this evening (for anyone who has been waiting) and posting a handful of banner ads that any of you who are willing can place on your site to help promote the event.
Word.
Kath, Rosie and Hubs - I will see you there!

Bill is in ICU at Swedish. He has been biking to work and was found
unconscious at the side of the road in Englewood this evening.
He's had two CT scans and 1 X Ray so far. They are monitoring him
hourly to check on his arachnoid bleed. Lotsa blood on the brain.
He doesn't remember what happened.
Englewood police surmise he was attempting to cross Belleview @ Inca and
a speeding car appeared and he swerved to get out of its way and crashed
his bicycle. No helmet, of course.
They hope they can take him out of ICU by noon tomorrow if the brain
bleed stops. they will do another CT scan in the morning.
He was making lots more sense when I left just now. When he got to
Swedish he couldn't even remember where he worked and what scared me the
most - He couldn't say Swedish. Swilvish? He said on the phone - I'm at
Swilvish.
that scared me. they initially thought he might have had a stroke but by
the time I left they had decided it is just - JUST damage from the crash.
I'll be back at Swedish around 7:30 a.m. and I should know lots more
after noon Tuesday. But he was definitely getting back to his irascible
self when I left.

I will add that this happened Monday evening after Bill left Dubach. I talked to him on the phone this morning, he's groggy but coherent and his sense of humor is intact

I saw and talked to Bonnie a little while ago as I was leaving the hospital. I spent about an hour with Bill until Morgan showed up. The thing that seems to be weighing on him now is the doctors are telling him he will probably not be safe to drive for maybe 6-8 weeks, be sure to tell him he can ride his bicycle. The last thing he can recall is being in a tunnel that goes under Belleview with another bicycle approaching him and thinking that there may not be quite enough room for the two of them. It's possible that they connected and caused Bill to hit his head on the wall of the tunnel. This makes sense to me because I think he looks way to good to have been hit by a car.

Any chance you'll have Mountain Dew (as opposed to the true Rocky Mountain High) for people who don't mind beer, but don't drink it themselves?
we've got a bunch of fun local guides for DNC on our new squidoo-like local publishing platform. Take a whirl if you're curious. Widgets to add to your site, and "express your local side". (you can see it in action on my blog)
cheers, Perry
And fat.
Damn.
PS - Billll ( billllsidlemind.blogspot.com ) was discharged from the hospital. I haven't talked to him yet, so I don't know if he's still planning on being there.
My name is Ian, and I am from California. I would like to RSVP for this event. I am looking forward to Denver!

You cannot take light rail to the Union Station stop during the convention!!! You will need to take D, E or F lines, get off at 16th & California and take the 16th street mall shuttle down to the Bar!!!
Two Republicans and three Democrats.. should be a fun time :)
Beer makes the world go round!!!!
Did I see something about BlogHer showing up?
Um, this is supposed to be an RSVP.
Is there anything else I should do to make it official?

"I’m dictating to D’Wife as I am not yet capable of writing this sort of thing myself. I will be unable to attend the Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash on Thursday because Life is a Bitch and D’Wife is in charge of it ‘cause I sure can’t be. I’m on anti-seizure meds for several more days and limited to short periods of human interactions. "
